Sponsor a DHF Youth! A Project of Digital Harbor Foundation

Tech education means real-world projects, real-world connections, and real-time change.

In DHF's technology after-school programs, youth develop their own creativity, initiative, persistence, and confidence while accessing essential skills in web development, 3D design and printing, coding, electronics, and game design. To ensure these opportunities are available to all interested youth, all of our programs run on a Pay-What-You-Can basis. In addition, we provide a 10-to-1 or better instructor-to-student balance, to support each youth's projects and potential. Your gift directly supports a DHF youth's supplies, instruction, and space in DHF's Tech Center afterschool programs:

  • $500 provides a full 14-week course for 1 youth in Maker Foundations, DHF's beginning course for grades 6-10.
  • $250 supports a full 7-week DHF Member Course, for advanced youth in grades 7-12.
  • $120 purchases 6 spools of 3D-printer filament for youth projects.
  • $50 provides a Raspberry Pi computer board + wiring for a youth project.
  • $25 provides a day's supply of class materials: paints, duct tape, LED lights, markers, plywood, craft paper, and coin batteries.

See what DHF youth have accomplished in 2016!

After showing President Obama his Toy Manufacturing project, Jacob, 9, suggested that President Obama have a Kid Science Advisor. His idea sparked a convening of 11 youth from across the country, including Jacob, and his sister Alexis, 5, as the official White House Kid Science Advisors. Their task? to ensure that all students get the tech education opportunities they need.

"The stuff that the DHF youth are accomplishing and producing is simply mind blowing. I wish that I had the programs and resources that the space provided available to me when I was growing up." — Chris Stone, entrepreneur

Last summer, Claire, 16 and a DHF Makerette, combined her love of technology and insects to create a series of interactive insect models. See the series on her Facebook page, @BugsNCode:

"DHF has a real gift with identifying talent and helping them flourish." — Saad Alam, CEO, Citelighter

Meanwhile, Joseph, a 9-year-old Mini Maker, designed, built, and programmed his own video game - from designing the characters to wiring the controllers:

"I can honestly say that the DHF Maker Camp has turned my children into risk-takers and innovators. It's so awesome and exciting to see a positive change in my children." DHF Parent
